When warehouses receive their deliveries in crates it will raise problems on a multitude of levels. This is what was happening on this particular site. Deliveries were being received in large bulky crates. This soon escalates to an almost unsurpassable issue when you have nowhere to dispose of it efficiently and effectively.
Kadant PAAL were presented with this problem by Dunelm for one of their sites. Space, storage, logistics and Health & Safety issues were all points needing to be addressed. This is one of those situations Kadant PAAL have great satisfaction in being able to supply support to our customers with our considered best advice, knowing that the site operation would be able to work efficiently and be cost effective with the solution of the supply of the KPR500PC. Also, as the site wanted to eliminate manual handling, a bespoke hopper was designed and built by Kadant PAAL to enable the KPR500PC to be fed by Forklift Truck.
By using this Pre-Crush, they will achieve higher bin weights. This is due to the varying and awkward sizes of pallets and crates being crushed before being pushed into the bin. Maximising on the volume of wood being processed and weight pushed into the bin with exceptional crushing force. This then has the knock-on bonus of reducing transportation costs and less bins being used, along with reducing the amount of storage space being used.
Wouldn’t it be a great result to go from having two bin collections per week to an amazing one collection every three weeks, which has been reported to us by one of our very satisfied customers.
Nathan Cope, Regional Health & Safety Manager TechIOSH for Dunelm was very happy to give us this feedback, “Kadant PAAL have delivered exceptional quality machinery and service to us for nearly twenty years, and the installation of our KPR500PC Compactor was no exception. From Initial engineer’s visits to installation and commission, they’ve helped us bring our projects to life and offered first class advice and support. The KPR500PC Compactor has completely transformed the yard and was able to deal with very challenging oversized wooden crates.”
Our many thanks to Nathan for sharing his comments as it allows Kadant PAAL show you our strengths. Our customer support, our listening to your needs and what you want to achieve and then making them happen for a scope of benefits for your organisation.
